Mint Julep

WHISKEY | MINTY + COOLING + SLIGHTY SWEET | serves 1
Variations: ginger mint, virgin, pitcher.
  • 70ml whiskey
  • 15ml sugar syrup
  • 12 mint leaves
  • Garnish: sprig of mint.

Add the mint leaves and sugar syrup to a chilled julep cup or low tumbler. Bruise mint leaves with muddler or pestle. Add whisky, ice and stir. Garnish and enjoy.

  • Ginger Mint Julep: add 30ml ginger liqueur (or 120ml ginger beer), and 15ml lemon juice.
  • Virgin Julep: omit the alcohol and add ¼ cup water and ½ cup ginger ale.
  • Mint Julep by the pitcher: multiply the ingredients as required and prepare the recipe in a pitcher.
